"The oil painting of The Cardinal has been in the family since 1930 when bought at auction. It was severely burnt in a house fire in the 60s and an attempt was made to preserve the painting, however it was done badly with inappropriate varnish and paper. My parents gave the painting to me, and I searched online for an art restorer knowing nothing of the subject. Maria Teresa Molner’s website proved most intriguing and an appointment to view the damaged painting. Mrs Molner has many years of experience and is an artist in her own name. She was brutally honest, declaring that if nothing was done the painting would be lost entirely. The restoration and conservation processes were explained, the minimum cost was given and accepted. The work was more than 58 hours, but the result is now a painting that is both safe, durable and valuable in appearance, The Cardinal has been restored. Mrs Molner has achieved a wonderful result and deserves my total respect for the quality of her work."
